3.11 SURVIVORS – 26 Student Voices of Tohoku, Japan!

Tuesday, June 24 – 18:00-21:00
at Scandinavia House (58 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10016)

Over a year has passed since the Great Tohoku Earthquake, March 11th, 2011. On our school campus we felt the full strength of the earthquake. We heard the warning for an enormous tsunami, and moved to the highest floor of our school building. Constant aftershocks kept us all on edge. We spent the night at our school without electricity, not knowing when we could return home. Then, we learned about the damaged nuclear reactors in Fukushima…
After these devastating events, we received an outpouring of help from all over the world. We, students of Tohoku Japan, would like the opportunity to show our gratitude to the people of the world who helped and supported us. Our event will take place in New York City, but is meant for all the people of the world that assisted us in our greatest time of need. Please come and listen to our stories of surviving the Great Tohoku Earthquake.
